Maps need internet; areas you viewed before may load from cache. The app is free and contains ads. Key features Built for use on the move: large buttons, voice input when saving waypoints, and voice prompts during guidance. Each place stores a name, photo, coordinates, accuracy, and a note. Sort waypoints by distance or by time saved. Choose a target from saved waypoints or set one on the map with a long press until a red marker appears. The button with the person icon starts guidance to the selected waypoint. A red arrow shows the bearing toward the place marked with the red marker. The compass button aligns the map with north. When you rotate the map, the red arrow keeps pointing toward your destination. Voice updates report distance, accuracy, and when to adjust direction. Prompts work in the background, with the screen locked, or with the phone in your pocket - useful with gloves or in bright sun. During guidance, your path (track) is recorded and saved on the phone so you can see how you reached that spot. Tap the same button again - the one with the animated walking figure - to stop guidance. You can send a saved place by email or messenger. An attached file opens automatically in Waypoint Bearing GPS on the recipient’s device if the app is installed. The SOS (“I’m here”) button creates a short message with a link to your current location. On the recipient’s phone, a link from an SMS opens your position in this app when it is installed. Important This app is not fully reliable. Without a positioning signal or with interference, it may fail or mislead. Do not rely on Waypoint Bearing GPS alone - carry a compass and paper maps. Guidance follows a straight bearing to the waypoint. It does not follow paths, roads, or trails, and it is not for driving - there is no turn-by-turn road navigation. The app does not detect obstacles or hazards on your route. When following guidance, stay alert and watch where you walk. Map rotation by north depends on your phone’s magnetometer - calibrate regularly; metal and electronics can disturb it. An internet connection is required to download maps and to use some features. Previously viewed map areas may load from cache. Tips Location uses extra battery - avoid heading out below 90% charge; a power bank or backup phone helps. Location determination may be slow or inaccurate immediately after starting the application, as well as in valleys, dense thickets, or when the phone is in your pocket (5-10 times worse).
